Challenge
Create a unique brand identity, marketing platform, and communications strategy for Lano, the Northern Italian-inspired café and wine bar located within the 5-star Ritz-Carlton in downtown Toronto.
Goal
The brand has the ability to stand alone while seamlessly co-existing with Toca and Epoch within the hotel. Lano will attract a variety of patrons beyond hotel guests and residents, such as symphony/theatre-goers, tourists, and people working and living downtown. It is the goal to build brand recognition and loyalty within our target market that drives awareness and interest for this café and wine bar.
Solution
This brand is a mix of modern and classic typefaces that will bridge “old and new” to honour the methods of the past with the standards of today. It gives the brand an everlasting quality that’s formed by tried and true traditions. By creating tactile expressions throughout the packaging, we bring an accessible brand narrative that matches the elevated experience patrons will have here.
